This photographic series is an investigation into new ways of interpreting identity technically within the classical genre of portraiture. The first part of the series deals with one of the most common agricultural “products” – the chicken. Raised in industrial-scale livestock farming, its breeding is adapted to human eating habits. One of the breulers, Heinrich, was given a second life in a animal farm for children
in Berlin. The others were bought as pieces of meat in different supermarkets, trying to research their identity through scientific means.
