The Reflektor-series consists of site-specific bacteria work. Dependent on the environment and context, a carrier substance and the initial shape of the work is determined. During a process of growth and proliferation, the largely invisible air bound world is brought to light as the surface of a carrier substance enables micro-urban structures to develop and become visible to the human eye. Reflektor I constitutes a sphere made out of agar-agar that was suspended in the garden at the Kunstverein Haus am Lützowplatz in Berlin for approximately one hour. The invisible world of micro-organisms present in the garden became perceivable as clusters, crystals and colour fields on the surface of the sphere.
