Das Numen instructed curator Lukas Töpfer to live and work in the small exhibition chamber 3 1⁄2 for twelve consecutive days and nights to calculate, without leaving the institution, the probability of a meteorite impact right where he sits. Impact represents an intimate mathematical situation in an institutional context, thus associating its content with a cloud of themes ranging from the historical concepts of retreat to modern catastrophe science fiction.
