Base for this installation was a precise 3 x 3 grid drawn onto the map of St. Petersburg. Every of the 9 spots found through this procedure was visited and a wooden box with white colored nutrition media for air borne germs was opened to catch the site-specific imprint of those microorganisms onto its white surface. The boxes were sealed so that in the installation one could compare the heterogenous quality of growth patterns developed over time because of the different types of germs collected in different parts of the city. Next to each of the boxes a polaroid foto showed the location where the collection procedure took place. After the exhibition the sealed waterproof boxes were sent to a journey on the sea water passing through the city.
